What does Bujairami Petals of Paradise smell like?
Sweet, sour and bitter arrive together at the top of Bujairami Petals of Paradise. Salted caramel is a gourmand accord, burnt sugar and butter with a saline edge that keeps it from cloying. Passion fruit is the sour one: a tangy, tropical fruit with a sharp, almost sulphurous brightness. Bergamot adds the bitter freshness of citrus peel.
The flower in the heart is hibiscus. Real hibiscus blossoms have very little smell, so a hibiscus note is composed by the perfumer, and it usually comes out as a soft, slightly tart, petal-like floral. Iris is its opposite in character. It is made from the root of the plant, not the flower, and smells cool, powdery and faintly of carrot. Frankincense, the resin burned as incense, brings a lemony, peppery coolness.
Vanilla and sandalwood in the base pick up the caramel from the top, sweet and creamy. Cypriol does the reverse. This root oil smells earthy and smoky, and beside the frankincense it gives the list a dry, resinous line running under the sugar. Caramel, fruit and vanilla on one side; iris, frankincense and cypriol on the other.

How Petals of Paradise differs from its neighbours in the range
Both list incense, sandalwood and vanilla. Petals of Paradise adds bergamot, passion fruit, salted caramel and hibiscus; Tenfold has truffle, blackcurrant, amalfi lemon and gardenia instead.
Bujairami Chubby gives the gourmand half of Bujairami Petals of Paradise in five notes: caramel, musk, tonka bean, sandalwood, vanilla. Caramel, sandalwood and vanilla are shared, though Petals of Paradise specifies salted caramel. What Chubby leaves out is the rest of the pyramid: passion fruit and bergamot, hibiscus and iris, frankincense and cypriol.
Shared notes: bergamot and vanilla. In Petals of Paradise but not in Beautiful Lady: passion fruit, salted caramel, hibiscus and orri. The other way round: mandarin, ginger, saffron and lavender. By the label, Beautiful Lady is an eau de parfum and Petals of Paradise an extrait de parfum.
When to wear Bujairami Petals of Paradise
