Eight entries crowd the top of Bujairami Tenfold. Truffle is the surprising one: an earthy, mushroom-like, slightly musky note that perfumers use to give flowers a dark, damp undertone. Blackcurrant adds tart, green-edged fruit. Bergamot, mandarin and Amalfi lemon are the citrus trio, bitter, sweet and sour in that order. Gardenia, ylang-ylang and jasmine are listed here already, before they return in the heart.
Those three flowers, named twice, are the core of the scent on paper. Gardenia is creamy and green with a faint mushroom facet of its own, which is why it sits so easily next to truffle. Ylang-ylang is rich, custard-like and a little fruity. Jasmine is sweet and heady. The heart adds orchid, which in perfumery is an imagined note, usually soft, powdery and vanilla-tinted, and lotus, a watery, airy flower. Spices and fruity notes are general entries with no material named.
The base is as long as the top. Mexican chocolate points to dark cocoa with a spiced edge; patchouli, its usual partner, is earthy and slightly chocolate-like itself. Incense brings cool smoke, amber and vanilla bring warmth and sweetness. Sandalwood and vetiver are the woods, creamy and dry, and white musk cleans up the finish. The brand's pyramid names gardenia, ylang-ylang and jasmine in both the top and the heart, and this guide shows the list as published. A plain reading is that those three flowers are noticeable from the opening onwards. The repeats add no new materials.
