What does Bujairami Killer Oud smell like?
Spice comes first in Bujairami Killer Oud, in three registers. Cardamom is cool, green and lemony. Black pepper is dry and biting, the smell of freshly cracked corns more than of heat. Pink pepper, which is a berry and no relation, is brighter and slightly fruity, with a rosy fizz. All three are sharp and none is sweet, so the top reads as a dry, peppery jolt.
Then the wood. Oud is the resin an aquilaria tree forms when it is infected, and its character shifts with where the tree grew. Oud from Assam in north-east India has a reputation among perfumers for being deep, leathery and animalic; Indonesian oud is usually described as earthier and drier. The brand lists one in the heart and one in the base, which at the very least tells us that oud is meant to run through the whole scent. Patchouli adds damp earth next to the first, and amber, a warm resinous accord, rounds off the second.
Is Killer Oud for you?
Listed for him and for her, Bujairami Killer Oud falls under oriental in this guide. That family is our own derivation from the notes, driven by the amber base and the spice on top; with two ouds and patchouli, a reader could argue for woody just as well. The concentration is extrait de parfum. Seven notes over three tiers make a compact list, and an unusual one, since a single material fills two of the seven lines.

Killer Oud and its closest neighbours
Bujairami Boss Life has oud, patchouli and amber, the same three names that anchor Bujairami Killer Oud. Around them Boss Life is broader and softer: bergamot and lemon with unnamed spices on top, cedarwood and tobacco in the heart, leather in the base. Killer Oud narrows everything down to pepper, cardamom and a second oud.
With twenty-six entries, Bujairami Boss Life Extreme has by far the longest list of the three, and five of them meet Bujairami Killer Oud: cardamom, a pepper (Sichuan there), patchouli, amber and agarwood. The rest of it, incense, elemi, saffron, rose, opoponax, benzoin, labdanum, vanilla and more, has no counterpart in Killer Oud's seven notes.
Oud and amber sit in the base of both Bujairami Killer Oud and Bujairami Sacred Order, and both are extraits with the same stated house. Sacred Order builds upward with berries, saffron, rose and leather and sweetens the base with tonka bean. Killer Oud has no flower and no fruit; its upper half is pepper and cardamom.
