Bujairami Top Tier is a nine-note extrait de parfum built in three equal tiers: saffron, pink pepper and bergamot; violet leaf, leather and rose; patchouli, oak and vanilla bean.

Saffron comes first on the list of Bujairami Top Tier, and it is a good guide to what follows. The spice has a dry, leathery, slightly metallic smell, so it anticipates the leather in the heart. Pink pepper is brighter, a rosy, fizzy spice that in turn anticipates the rose. Bergamot supplies the bitter-fresh citrus that most pyramids start with.
The heart holds three notes with three different textures. Violet leaf is green and watery, with a cucumber-like, faintly metallic coolness; it is a different material from the sweet, powdery violet flower. Leather is a smoky, dry accord. Rose is the full floral note between them. Rose with leather and saffron is one of the established combinations in modern perfumery, and violet leaf is what makes this version greener.
Patchouli starts the base with its earthy, slightly camphorous depth. Oak is an uncommon entry that suggests dry, tannic cask wood. Vanilla bean, named as the pod and not as plain vanilla, implies the darker, woodier side of vanilla. One sweet note against two dry ones: the base stays on the woody side.
The style of Top Tier is oriental: warm and rich.

Bujairami Powerful Lady and Bujairami Top Tier both run saffron and bergamot into rose and finish with patchouli. From there Powerful Lady goes soft and floral, with jasmine, citrus fruits, amber and musk. Top Tier goes the other way: pink pepper, violet leaf and leather around the rose, then oak and vanilla bean. One is an eau de parfum, the other an extrait.
