What does Bujairami Mysterious smell like?
The top is fruit and peel. Pear is juicy, slightly grainy and green-sweet, tangerine is a softer, sweeter citrus than orange, and bergamot supplies the bitter, tea-like edge. The three keep the opening bright without turning it sharp, because two of them are mild and fleshy.
At the centre, three white flowers come from the same orange tree or its neighbours. Orange blossom is honeyed, green and a little waxy. Neroli is the oil distilled from the same blossom, and it is cleaner, more bitter and more citrus-like. Jasmine sambac is the heavy, fruity-narcotic jasmine, creamier than common jasmine. Because orange blossom and neroli overlap, the heart is less a mixed bouquet than one dense white flower at several angles, with the sambac adding the heaviness.
Bourbon vanilla, white musk, amber and benzoin make a warm and soft base. Bourbon vanilla is the creamy, rounded vanilla from the Indian Ocean islands. White musk is laundered and skin-like. Amber is a resinous sweet accord, and benzoin is a balsam with a vanillic, slightly cinnamon-like warmth. Four notes of resin and softness leave the flowers a cushion to rest on.
