No tiers are given for Bujairami Madness Extreme, so the nine notes are best read in groups. The dark group is oud, incense and birch. Oud is the resinous heartwood of the agar tree, and in a note list it stands for a deep, woody, leathery and slightly animalic smell. Incense is a burned-resin note, cool and smoky. Birch in perfumery nearly always means birch tar, the tarry, smoky material behind most leather accords.
Against that stands a rose with two companions. Geranium leaf oil has a scent like a greener, mintier rose and is used to extend the flower. Raspberry is sweet, tart and jammy. Rose, raspberry and oud is a familiar combination: the fruit lightens the wood and makes the rose read as red and ripe.
Saffron, benzoin and amberwood are the remaining three. Saffron is a dry, leathery spice that sits naturally between rose and oud. Benzoin is a balsam with a vanilla-like sweetness, the one soft, sugary element here apart from the raspberry. Amberwood is a modern dry-wood material with an ambery warmth. Smoke, leather tones, a fruity rose and a resinous sweetness: that is what the list describes, and it is why this guide derives three families from it.

All nine notes of Bujairami Madness Extreme appear in it, some under longer names such as oud wood, birch wood and benzoin balm, and there they are arranged in a pyramid. Mad Love adds suede leather in the heart and musk in the base, and it is an extrait where Madness Extreme is an eau de parfum.
Bujairami Breathless reduces the idea to five notes: saffron, rose, incense, amber and oud. Four of them are in Bujairami Madness Extreme as well. Missing from Breathless are the raspberry, the birch and the geranium, so its list has no fruit and no tar; Madness Extreme has benzoin and amberwood where Breathless simply says amber.
Both list saffron, rose, incense and oud. Madness Extreme adds raspberry, geranium, amberwood and benzoin; Imperial Oud has spices, amber, patchouli and sandalwood instead.
