With only six materials, every one of them matters in Bujairami Oud It Up. Raspberry opens the list, a fruit that is tart, jammy and faintly seedy; next to saffron it takes on a darker, almost wine-like quality. Saffron itself is a dry, leathery spice with a hint of metal and hay, and in perfumery it is the usual way of making a fruit sound resinous rather than juicy.
