What does Bujairami Madagascar smell like?
The note list of Bujairami Madagascar is brief and comes without a pyramid, so there is no stated order in which the five materials appear. Vanilla is named first. Natural vanilla is more than sugar: the cured pod smells creamy, a little woody and faintly smoky, with a rum-like depth. The name of the scent points to the island that grows much of the world's vanilla, though the listing does not say where its vanilla comes from. Spices is a general term, used when no single spice is picked out, and stands for a dry, warm effect.
Opoponax is the least familiar word here. It is a gum resin, also called sweet myrrh, with a warm, balsamic, slightly honeyed smell and a touch of something medicinal; perfumers use it to give vanilla a darker, more resinous frame. Amber is a warm accord, traditionally built on resins and vanilla, so it leans the same way. Musk closes the list with a soft, skin-like texture. Every one of the five is a base-weight material. No citrus, flower or fruit is named, and that is why this guide puts the scent in a single family, oriental.
Bujairami Madagascar: style and character
Judged by its notes alone, Madagascar is a sweet and warm gourmand scent.
On paper it is built around spices, vanilla and resins and balsams.
Within the Bujairami range, Bujairami Velvet comes closest, with vanilla in common.
Next: Bujairami Legacy.
This is the guide's own wording of the family and notes, not a test.
Bujairami Madagascar compared with related scents
Four of the five notes in Bujairami Madagascar are also in Bujairami Legacy: vanilla, spices, amber and musk. Legacy has a pyramid, with bergamot beside the spices on top and caramel alone in the heart, which gives it a fresh start and a sugared middle. Madagascar has opoponax where Legacy has caramel: resin in place of burnt sugar. Both are extraits.
Chubby overlaps with Madagascar on vanilla and musk. The split: warm spice, resins and balsams and golden amber here, caramel, tonka bean and sandalwood there. By the label, Chubby is an extrait de parfum and Madagascar an eau de parfum.
Shared notes: vanilla and musk. In Madagascar but not in Powder Affair: warm spice, resins and balsams and golden amber. The other way round: coconut, powdery notes and tonka bean. Madagascar is an eau de parfum, Powder Affair an extrait de parfum.
Who Madagascar suits and when to wear it
Bujairami Madagascar is tagged for her by the brand. This guide derives one family from the five notes, oriental, and that label is its own sorting, not something on the listing. The concentration is extrait de parfum. As note lists go, this is the minimal kind: five names, no tiers, one of them a general term (spices), and no bottle size stated. A reader gets the theme from it and little of the detail.
