What does Bujairami Ethereal smell like?
Three unusual top notes set the tone. Cardamom is a cool, aromatic spice with a lemony, slightly camphor-like freshness. Fig in perfumery covers the whole tree: green leaf, milky sap and soft, coconut-tinged fruit. Black tea is dry and tannic, sometimes a little smoky, like the smell of the leaves in the tin. None of the three is a citrus, so Bujairami Ethereal opens spiced, milky and leafy instead of sparkling.
Iris leads the heart. The material comes from the aged root of the plant, not the flower, and smells powdery, cool and faintly of raw carrot, with a buttery texture. Bourbon vetiver is vetiver root oil from Réunion, the island once called Bourbon, a variety known for a smoother, more rounded earthiness than most. Cistus incanus is a rockrose species; in perfumery cistus stands for the warm, resinous, slightly leathery smell of that group of shrubs, which also yields labdanum.
Five notes fill the base, and they pull in two directions. Sandalwood and cedar are the woods, one creamy and the other dry like pencil shavings; Indonesian patchouli leaf adds a darker, earthy, camphor-tinged depth. Against them stand Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean, the sweet pair, with tonka bringing an almond-and-hay nuance. Fig milk, sandalwood cream and vanilla line up on one side, tea, iris, vetiver and cedar on the other, which is how the list ends up both woody and gourmand in this guide's sorting.
Is Ethereal for you?
For him and for her is how the brand tags Bujairami Ethereal. The two families, woody and gourmand, are assigned by this guide from the notes: four woods and roots against vanilla, tonka bean and fig. It is an extrait de parfum, the higher of the brand's two concentrations, and the listing gives no size. The note list is a full three-tier pyramid of eleven materials, four of them with an origin or a botanical name attached.

Four of the seven notes of Bujairami Oud Money also appear in Bujairami Ethereal: vetiver, sandalwood, vanilla and tonka bean. Oud Money puts oud at its centre and adds amber and unnamed spices. Ethereal names no oud and no amber; its heart is iris, with fig and black tea above, so its list reads drier and greener at the top.
The overlap with Bujairami Lucid Dream is iris, vetiver, tonka bean and cedar, which covers much of the woody side of Bujairami Ethereal. Lucid Dream opens with mandarin orange, bergamot and pink pepper and has orange blossom in the heart. Ethereal has no citrus and no orange blossom; fig, black tea, sandalwood, vanilla and patchouli leaf are on its list only.
Bujairami Chubby has five notes, and three of them, sandalwood, vanilla and tonka bean, are in the base of Bujairami Ethereal. The remaining two are caramel and musk, which makes Chubby the sweeter list. Ethereal surrounds that trio with cedar, patchouli leaf, vetiver, iris and tea, so the shared notes are a smaller part of a longer, woodier pyramid.
