Notes in The Drifter

Notes as the brand lists them in its own catalogue (read on 24 October 2026). This guide has not smelled or tested the scent.

What does Bujairami The Drifter smell like?

Geranium leads the list of Bujairami The Drifter. Its leaf oil smells rosy, green and minty, close enough to rose that perfumers use it as a sharper, leafier stand-in. Pink pepper has a rosy side of its own, bright and slightly fruity, so the two reinforce each other. Citrus, named without a fruit, adds general zest.

Red peony continues the rose theme in the heart. Peony gives no extract, so the note is always a perfumer's construction: fresh, airy, petal-like, somewhere between rose and a watery green. Cardamom cools it and saffron warms it, the first green and lemony, the second leathery and dry with a metallic gleam. Saffron is also the classic bridge to oud.

And oud is where the base begins. Agarwood is dark, woody and leathery. Cypriol, also called nagarmotha, is the root of an Indian sedge with a smoky, earthy, slightly leathery smell that perfumers often use to reinforce oud. Patchouli is damp earth, vetiver dry roots and smoke, and musk is the one soft note. Rosy and peppery on top, rooty and smoky below: that spread is why the scent sits in three families in this guide.

Who wears The Drifter

Bujairami The Drifter is listed for him and for her. Oriental, floral and woody: three families, each traceable to part of the list, and all three assigned by this guide from the notes and not by the brand. Saffron and oud give the first, geranium and red peony the second, cypriol, patchouli and vetiver the third. It is an extrait de parfum. The pyramid is complete and specific, eleven notes with only the citrus left unnamed.

How The Drifter compares with similar scents

Bujairami Oud Money

Bujairami Oud Money shares the stated house and two materials with Bujairami The Drifter: oud and vetiver. From there it goes sweet and creamy, with sandalwood, amber, tonka bean and vanilla. The Drifter goes the other way, towards flowers at the top and towards cypriol and patchouli at the bottom, and it lists no sweet note.

Bujairami Tigris

Citrus, vetiver, musk and patchouli are common ground between Bujairami The Drifter and Bujairami Tigris, an eau de parfum with six notes. Tigris has unnamed spices where The Drifter names cardamom, saffron and pink pepper, and amber where The Drifter has oud and cypriol. Tigris lists no flowers; The Drifter has geranium and red peony.

Bujairami Wild Side

Bujairami Wild Side is an extrait like Bujairami The Drifter and prints the same six names as Tigris: citrus fruits, spices, musk, vetiver, amber and patchouli. Four of them overlap with The Drifter. Missing from Wild Side are the rosy notes, geranium and red peony, and the darkest part of the base, oud with cypriol.

Which size does Bujairami The Drifter come in?

What is cypriol?

Cypriol is the root of a sedge that grows along rivers in India, also known as nagarmotha. Its oil smells woody, smoky and earthy with a leathery undertone, and perfumers often use it to support an oud note. Bujairami The Drifter lists it in the base, directly after oud.

Is Bujairami The Drifter a floral or an oud scent?

The notes make it both. Geranium and red peony give the upper tiers a rosy floral character, sharpened by pink pepper. The base is oud with cypriol, patchouli and vetiver, all dark. This guide therefore sorts it under floral and woody at once, and under oriental for the saffron and oud.

Which scent family is Bujairami The Drifter in?

This guide files it under oriental, sorted from its notes.
