What does Bujairami Shadow Script smell like?

Frankincense on the top line is the first sign of where Bujairami Shadow Script goes. The resin, burned as church incense, smells cool, lemony and smoky, and it is light enough to be noticed early. Two peppery notes go with it. Pimento is the allspice berry, warm and clove-like with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Pink pepper is brighter and rosier. Bergamot supplies the only citrus.

The heart is mostly dry wood. Papyrus is a tall sedge, and its note is woody, slightly smoky and parched, a relative of cypriol. Vetiver is an earthy grass root; sandalwood is the creamy counterpart to both. Rose is the lone flower, and in a setting of incense and woods it tends to read dark and spiced, not fresh.

Two trade names appear in the base. Akigalawood is a modern ingredient obtained from patchouli oil, peppery and woody with an oud-like shade. Mystikal is likewise a trade name for an aroma molecule, one associated with a resinous, incense-like effect, which fits the frankincense above. Suede is a soft leather accord, smoother than birch-tar leather. Saffron adds a leathery, slightly metallic spice, and vanilla is the single sweet note. Woods and resins dominate the thirteen names, which gives this guide its two families: woody and oriental.
