The top of Bujairami Resolution is bright and spiced. Bergamot is the bitter-fresh citrus, tea-like and slightly floral. Cardamom adds a cool, lemony spice, and pink pepper is a rose-tinted peppercorn, crisp and a little fruity, nothing like the hot black one. The three together make an opening that is more peppery than sweet.
Resin takes over in the middle. Frankincense is the pale gum from Boswellia trees, lemony, piney and smoky, the smell of church incense. Myrrh is a darker, bitter and balsamic resin, medicinal at first and sweeter as it warms. Juniper berries are green, resinous and gin-like. All three are conifer or tree-gum materials, and they make a dry, smoky and slightly bitter heart without any flower in it.
The base is vanilla, cedar and patchouli. Vanilla is the sweet and creamy one, and the only one that softens the heart's resins. Cedar is dry, pencil-like wood. Patchouli is earthy, damp and a little chocolatey. Taken from top to bottom, the list runs from citrus and pepper to resin and berries to wood and vanilla.
