Bujairami Iconique opens on tiare flower and pomegranate. Tiare, the Tahitian gardenia, has a creamy, green-white and slightly fruity floral note, and pomegranate gives a tart, juicy edge with a faint winey quality. Together they make a bright, sweetish start, with the fruit doing the lifting and the flower filling out the gap.
The heart is three familiar florals. Orange blossom gives a honeyed, slightly bitter petal sweetness, jasmine a warm, indolic and white-floral body, and rose a soft, dewy centre with a little fruit. Vanilla and patchouli close the scent. Vanilla gives a creamy, round sweetness, and patchouli a dark, earthy wood that keeps the close from turning to sugar. The base has only two notes, so the close is simpler than the bouquet above it.
