This list uses more laboratory names than most. The top is conventional: violet is a powdery, sweet, faintly green flower note, and bergamot is the bitter-fresh citrus that opens it up. Both are light, and they set a soft, slightly cosmetic tone.
In the heart stand orris root, moxalone and civettone. Orris root, the aged iris rhizome, smells powdery, cool and suede-like, a close relative of violet. Moxalone and civettone are aroma-chemical names. From the names, civettone points to the civet family of animalic, musky materials, and moxalone suggests a musk or woody molecule; the brand explains neither, and this guide will not guess further.
